Prior to his professional dance training, Thulani Chauke had years of experience performing and training with community groups in Soweto. He is a highly skilled contemporary dancer specialising in Afrofusion and Hip-Hop Dance teacher. In 2011, he joined Gregory Maqoma’s Vuyani Dance Theatre and participated in the Crossings International Workshops, which was an eye-opener for Chauke and where he discovered his artistry – how he could continue being creative and authentic and stay real in creating thought-provoking works.
Thulani is an associate of William Kentridge and performed in his WW1 production.
