Born in Shoreham-by-Sea, Jahmarley started dancing at the age of 11 at London Contemporary Dance School’s CAT scheme; having been given the opportunity to perform work by Richard Alston, Tavaziva and Punchdrunk. After which, Jahmarley joined the National Youth Dance Company, premiering a new work – ‘Frame[d]’ – by renowned choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, before taking the piece on a national tour. Jahmarley graduated from the Rambert School with a BA degree in Ballet and Contemporary Dance and joined DeNada Dance Theatre, working on ‘Mariposa: A Transgender Tragedy’ Inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and Zoonation for the feature film ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’.
