Zia Husbands grew up on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, and began their professional dance training at Brent Street in Sydney before moving to London to complete a BA (Hons) at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Zia has toured the UK with Ballet BC performing Crystal Pite’s ‘Frontier,’ performed ‘JOIN’ with Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company by Ioannis Mandafounis, and ‘GRIEF FLOATS’ by Company of Others. Alongside performing, Zia has been involved in dance films with BalletBoyz and 201 Dance Company, showing Holly Blakey and Andreas Walker’s choreography. Since 2023, Zia has been performing in a multitude of festivals including Sydney Festival with Stephanie Lake Company, Resolutions Festival in ‘TEKOHA’ by Vivian Guyrá, Serendipity Festival with Perspectives Media Collective, and Southbank Centre’s ‘You Are Here’ Festival performing a piece by Holly Blakey
