Franziska Dittrich was born in Dresden in 1988 and lives in Berlin. From 2008 to 2012 she studied Contemporary Puppetry at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. Since 2011 she works as a freelancing puppeteer and actress for theatre, for instance for Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspiel Dortmund, Theater Chemnitz, film and television. She is co-founder of the Retrofuturisten , a company for modern puppet theater based in Berlin. Their productions emerge in cooperation with theaters and independent venues as well as in co-production with international partners. She is also part of the Salon Kollektiv , which organizes the performative series Dystopian Salonin Berlin since 2015. Cooperations and guest shows on festivals took her to South Africa, Indonesia, Jordan, France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria. At Schauspielhaus Bochum she can be seen in The Incredible Story of the Little Robot Boy in the 2019/2020 season.
